The WorldFish Dataverse, hosted on Harvard Dataverse and managed by the WorldFish Knowledge and Data Management team since 2016, is an open research data repository that includes a substantial collection on sustainable aquaculture. It archives more than 200 datasets generated through WorldFish research, covering topics such as sustainable aquaculture, value chains, small-scale fisheries, nutrition and livelihoods across Southeast Asia, South Asia, Africa and the Pacific. Each dataset typically includes raw data, questionnaires, data-collection tools and codebooks, allowing other researchers to understand how data were gathered and to reuse them for new analyses. Open data of this kind supports transparency, reproducibility and efficient use of research investment, since new studies can build on existing surveys rather than repeating costly fieldwork. For climate and circular aquaculture research, the repository can provide household, farm and market data for secondary analysis of resilience, productivity, adoption of practices and socioeconomic outcomes. Classed as direct evidence under Knowledge, Capacity and Decision Support, the Dataverse is the primary open-data source in the matrix for secondary analysis. It is useful for researchers, students and analysts seeking empirical data, for designing new surveys based on tested instruments, and for comparative studies across countries and time periods.
